Q. Can Quantrix import data files created in Lotus Improv and Lighthouse Design Quantrix?
A. Yes! Quantrix can import Lotus Improv text files (.imx) and Quantrix Model Files (modelFile). Choose 'File --> Import' in Quantrix to import these files into Quantrix.
Q. Quantrix is a multi-dimensional financial modeling tool. What exactly is a dimension?
A. Dimensions are groups of similarly structured data in the model you are building. For example, a sales forecasting model might include five dimensions - Months, Years, Products, Sales Regions and Scenario (Best Case / Worst Case). Quantrix allows you to group and identify these dimensions as categories. You are then free to manipulate these categories to view your data in any number of configurations.
Q. Does Quantrix replace my current spreadsheet?
A. For simple models containing two dimensions, current spreadsheets are sufficient. However, when model complexity increases or multiple dimensions are introduced into the model, Quantrix gives you the increased power and the flexibility required. Quantrix is a sophisticated tool designed specifically for professionals who must meet the demands of complex modeling tasks. Quantrix is a tool that enables the creation of multi-dimensional numeric models, with speed, simplicity and accuracy.
Q. Does Quantrix modeler support the OS X platform?
A. Quantrix Modeler for OS X is available for download and purchase. Please visit the download page and purchase page for more information.
Q. Can I share my Quantrix models with users who do not have Quantrix?
A. Quantrix Modeler is engineered to simplify both the creation and sharing of complex models. Because of this, your Quantrix models export easily to popular spreadsheet, word processing and presentation programs.
What's more, Quantrix models also export to a Dynamic HTML browser Interface. Just as if you were working in the application itself, exporting to Dynamic HTML format allows you or others to continue to 'slice and dice' and view your data in any number of configurations.
**Dynamic Linking is also available in Quantrix Modeler. More than a static export of data, this feature links your Quantrix Model with your presentation document in real time. As you change the model in Quantrix, the data is automatically updated in your linked document. No more re-exporting and re-formatting your presentation for last minute changes.

A. Yes. Templates that tie in with the User Guide documentation along with other pre-built templates will be available with the application installation. Also, the Templates and Modeler Notes sections on this website provide you with some example models. While most modeling is highly specific to each user own business task, we will continue to introduce templates that can be easily customized for frequently performed functions, structures and presentations.
